As part of the School of Health Sciences, the CD Minor provides prerequisite course work for graduate study in communication sciences and disorders, including study in speech-language pathology and audiology. This also includes an additional course (Guided Clinical Observations) which will provide students with the 25 observation hours required for admission to a graduate program.

Additional course work must be completed in the following areas: biological science, physical science, social science, and statistics. Students should meet with their preceptor to discuss requirements for specific graduate programs of study. Completion of the recommended course sequence does not guarantee acceptance into the Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders (MCSD) program at Stockton University.

Admission to the Program

The program is open to students in all majors. Students should contact the coordinator of the Communication Disorders Minor program to indicate their interest in pursuing the minor. It also is helpful for students to inform their preceptor of their intention to pursue the minor as the requirements for Communication Disorders can simultaneously fulfill other graduation requirements. With early planning, the requirements for the Communication Disorders minor can be fulfilled within the framework of completing any undergraduate degree at the University.
