Course Description/Statement of Appropriateness
This 5.75-hour continuing education workshop has been specifically designed for clinicians who serve as clinical/fieldwork instructors from all of the health science professions affiliated with Stockton’s clinical program: nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology.
This conference is designed to facilitate clinical educators’ knowledge and comfort with current issues and approaches to clinical education and student learning with respect to the following topics: emotional intelligence, interprofessional practice, and cultural competency.
In addition, course faculty from all of the disciplines will facilitate discussion as the group addresses clinical case studies related to the workshop’s key topics identified above.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this one-day educational seminar, participants will be able to:
1. Discuss the four core competencies of inter professional collaborative practice.
2. Analyze clinical education scenarios to apply theoretical knowledge into clinical
practice.
3. Understand the value of assessing affective components of learning.
4. Apply emotional intelligence best practices in the provision of evidence-based
health care services.
5. Discuss the importance of debriefing in the learning environment to promote critical
thinking.
Continuing Education Credit Information
AOTA: This program is approved for .575 CEUs (Intermediate level); (5.75 contact hours).
ASHA: This program is offered for .55 ASHA CEUs (Intermediate level; Professional area).
NJBPTE: This course has been approved for 5.75 CEs Approval #1707-29
Stockton University is an AOTA Approved Provider of continuing education.

This event is FREE for Stockton affiliates and clinical educators. A fee of $395 will be charged to non-affiliates. Please remember the free discount cannot be shared.
