Course Description:

Dr. Carol Davis, DPT, EdD, MS, FAPTA, Professor Emeritus of Physical Therapy at the University of Miami states in the 4th edition of her book Integrative Therapies in Rehabilitation that “It is difficult to find clinics nowadays that do not integrate holistic therapies with standardized treatments.” (Integrative Therapies in Rehabilitation: Evidence for Efficacy in Therapy, Prevention, and Wellness, Fourth Edition, 2017, SLACK Incorporated, p. 3, 2017).

On September 15, 2018, a Level I: Reiki, A Complementary Health Modality Used With OT and PT, approved by the NJ PT Licensure Board was presented at Stockton University.

This follow up six-hour continuing education Reiki Level II workshop for PTs, PT Assistants, and PT students along with OTs, OT Assistants, and OT students highlights the bioenergetic validation and exploration of Reiki provided in multiple medical settings. Advanced training in the evidence-based use of Reiki energy, symbology, and scientific principles that enable Reiki to be an effective treatment modality are provided. Unique Reiki hand positions designed to interpret mechanical and structural anatomical and physiological disease and treatment methodologies are taught.

In-depth exploration of attendee’s experiences with Reiki based on their Reiki Level I training occurs. The therapeutic use of medicinal crystalline energy, vibrational healing, and the integration of sound are analyzed. The philosophical and experiential attributes of long distance healing are examined and experienced with validating research provided.

Ethical and cultural explorations of healing energy are explored throughout the workshop. Extensive advanced laboratory work with multiple partners and group dialogue occurs at this Reiki Level II workshop.
