During WWII, Atlantic City, New Jersey became an essential part of the war effort, earning it the nickname “Camp Boardwalk.”

Learn from curator, Dr. Patricia Chappine, during guided tours on March 4 (12:30-1:30 pm), March 19 (1-2 pm), and March 27 (12:30-1:30 pm) at the Noyes Arts Garage (2200 Fairmount Ave, Atlantic City, NJ).

Additionally, join Dr. Chappine's public lectures on March 25 at 11:20 am and 2:10 pm at Stockton University's Main Campus (101 Vera King Farris Dr, Galloway, NJ) in room L-112.

Join Dr. Hettie V. Williams as she discusses her book, The Georgia of the North: Black Women and the Civil Rights Movement in New Jersey. Dr. Hettie V. Williams is an Associate Professor in African American History at Monmouth University. She is the author/editor of seven books and several essays, articles, and book chapters.

Free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Sponsored by South Jersey Culture and History Center. Co-sponsored by Stockton University Multicultural Center, Murphy Writing, Africana Studies, and American Studies.

Emerging Choreographers Showcase features striking physicality, unusual grace, and the unexpected. This juried event is a laboratory for new dance makers to experiment and innovate. The Experimental Theatre’s intimacy offers audiences a personal view of forward-looking choreography and gives developing dance makers a chance to cultivate their voices.
