Stockton Through the Years

  • Trudging to classes during the winter of 1978.
  • The original greenhouse, attached to F-wing, under construction in 1972.
  • Housing 3 construction in 1988.
  • John Sinton at work in his outdoor classroom during the 1980s.
  • Aerial view of the campus in 1974—the tennis courts are gone, and the circle relocated. Its location in this building would be partially beneath today’s Arts and Science building.
  • Fifty years ago, in the fall of 1968, New Jersey residents were encouraged to vote for the bond issue that would result in funding to build Stockton and Ramapo Colleges.
  • Physics is fun.
  • Rocking on campus during the 1980s.
  • Two views of the Stockton gallery c. 1979. That furniture survived in use into the 2000s. Notice the lack of today’s ubiquitous cell phones – and students reading the newspaper (presumably The Argo).
  • Students at work in 1978.
  • Harvey Kesselman advising EOF students in the 1980s.
  • The gallery outside of the library in the 1970s. Notice no coffee bar and no F-wing atrium (the F-wing overbuild with new classrooms and atrium would not be built until the 2000s).
  • An old photo of Dr. William Lubenow, the last original faculty member, taken early in his career.
  • A recent photo of Dr. William Lubenow, the last original faculty member.
  • The sprayfields in operation (close by Lake Pam) in 1973. When Stockton opened in 1971, the campus was not connected to Galloway sewage system.
  • Colorful Stockton in the 1970s.
  • Placing a statue in the Arts & Sciences courtyard, 1994-95.
  • Move in day, C-Court, in the 1970s.

Music Through the Years

  • A student band playing at the 1995 WLFR Lakeside Concert.
  • Caleb Vermuelen, drummer of the band Inventure, playing at the Metal Monster Mash on October 20, 2018
  • A guitar duo performing at the 2001 Woodstockton.
  • A student crowd awaits performers at the 1981 Spring Bash.

Mayflower Photos

  • Seen is another photograph of the entrance of the Mayflower hotel.
  • Seen is one of the popular postcards Stockton students and other Mayflower tenants often sent home.
  • A photo of the Mayflower portrait, which adorned the Mayflower hotel.
  • Even way back when, students captured memories at Stockton.
  • Seen is a photograph taken during Stockton's early years. The Mayflower hotel offered housing to Stockton students.
  • The hustle and bustle of the Atlantic City boardwalk during Stockton's infancy. The Mayflower is seen standing proudly.
  • Another photograph of the Mayflower, taken from the boardwalk.
