I enrolled at Stockton as a transfer student majoring in Marketing but quickly changed my major after taking a NAMS elective course. Studying Marine Science at Stockton was an incredible experience and led me to ultimately become a high school Biology Teacher and Teacher Leader for the school’s science department. I love sharing my passion for science with my students and colleagues and strive to inspire them to pursue interests and careers in the Natural Sciences, just as my instructors from NAMS did for me. My classes at NAMS were exciting and my instructors were passionate experts in their fields of study. Given Stockton’s ideal location, quite a bit of my learning occurred outdoors. I fondly recall exploring the campus forest to identify and count trees and shrubs, a lab road trip to Ventnor to collect marine plants, and many hours spent in Brigantine photographing and identifying dolphins during my Naturalist Internship with the Marine Mammal Stranding Center. I am now pursuing my Master’s Degree in Biology at another university and am so glad I kept my notebooks from my undergraduate studies. They are as relevant today as they were then. Thank you NAMS at Stockton for a rewarding education and all of the opportunities that my education has afforded me.
