LIGHT Announces New Casino-Based Certificate

Atlantic City, N.J. —The Lloyd D. Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism (LIGHT) at Stockton University’s School of Business has partnered with casino industry experts to launch a new certificate program.

The Integrated Casino Resort Operations Certificate was designed in collaboration with human resources professionals and industry experts to deliver the in-demand, industry specific skills they are looking for when promoting new talent, said Jane Bokunewicz, LIGHT’s faculty director.

The eight-unit series covers the breadth of casino resort operations from gaming and surveillance to food and beverage to meetings and conventions and will give participants a background in all departments.

“The certificate will provide a firm foundation in business literacy for managers, and a broader understanding of the many facets of integrated casino resort operations and how they work together,” Bokunewicz said. “Participants will be empowered to take the next step in their careers, whether advancing within their organization or pivoting to casino resort operations from a related field.”

The program will run eight consecutive Tuesdays starting on Jan. 16, 2024 until March 4, 2024. Each three-hour, in-person workshop will be from 9 a.m. to noon and will take place at the Stockton Atlantic City campus.

The certificate was developed based on feedback from representatives of all nine Atlantic City casino hotels and will be taught by a team of 12 local experts. A full listing and schedule of courses, instructor bios and information for enrollment can be found on Stockton’s website at stockton.edu/light/icro or by emailing LIGHT@stockton.edu. Tuition for the program is $899 per participant, but discounted tuition is available for Stockton alumni and groups of three or more.
