Using Art to Teach about the Holocaust

Using Art to Teach about the Holocaust

5/6/2021,4-5pm, Online via Zoom | Visual art can be a very useful tool in the classroom to support students’ ability to connect to and understand complex or sensitive topics. The colorful embroidered story cloths sewn by Esther Nisenthal Kritinitz depict a young survivor’s journey through the occupation of her once bucolic peaceful village, the Holocaust, and her emigration to the United States. Her full collection is currently on display at the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) in Baltimore, MD. Brought to us by Echoes & Reflections.
