Uncovering Family Histories with the Tenement Museum

Uncovering Family Histories with the Tenement Museum

4/13/2021, 2:30-3:30pm, Online via Zoom | Join the Tenement Museum for a conversation about how sources and records can tell us stories about migration and family history. The Tenement Museum researches and interprets the history of real families who lived in tenements at 97 and 103 Orchard Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. On this program, Senior Director of Curatorial Affairs David Favaloro will share two family stories of migration through the records the museum uncovered over time. Using census records, court documents, and oral histories, you’ll hear about the stories we found in the archives, and what surprises we’ve discovered along the way.
