Galloway, N.J. – The Stockton Cheerleading team has been around for decades.

It was created as an athletic club that promoted school spirit for the basketball team and other on-campus activities.

Today, the cheerleading team is moving more toward becoming a sport. They are actively looking for competitions, on-campus appearances and tabling events. Just this spring, the team placed first in the Global Cheer Dance Reel Championship.

Discussing the new direction of the club, Gianna Noriega, captain of the squad, said, “(We are) doing something for ourselves as well as continuing to do something for those around us and on campus.”

Practices are held from Monday to Wednesday in Big Blue, starting at 6 p.m. Follow them on Instagram and join them on OspreyHub to learn more on how to join!
