Stockton to Host Fall Caregivers’ Conference

Galloway, NJ - The Stockton Center on Successful Aging (SCOSA) is co-sponsoring its First Fall Conference with the Cape Atlantic Caregivers’ Coalition’s “We Care Because You Care Event,” from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at Stockton University, 101 Vera King Farris Dr.

The event is free to Stockton University students, and community members.  Industry professionals, including social workers, marriage & family therapists, and licensed professional counselors may earn six continuing education credits in nonclinical, ethics and cultural competency by pre-registering and paying a $45 fee.

The day’s schedule includes keynote talks on “The Journey We Envision: Work Life Balance” by Mary Kaba Valis, MA, CDP, and “The Joyful Journey of Successful Aging: Theory, Research, and Practical Strategies” by Christine Gayda-Chelder, PhD.

Workshops topics include Diabetes, Veterans Resources and Connections, Getting Comfortable with Dementia and Cognitive Impairment, and Hoarding: Why and Interventions.
