Alumni GoPortal Accounts

Stockton has made the decision to discontinue offering alumni email accounts six months after graduation. While this decision was a difficult one, the University feels it is necessary to secure our digital infrastructure against modern cyberthreats. Stockton continually evaluates the efficiency and security of our entire network. As part of this evaluation, we have identified alumni email accounts as being especially susceptible to attack.

This high level of dormant accounts heightens security concerns and puts an undue burden on the team tasked with maintaining and securing them. This usage level also tells us most alumni have chosen to use other email services. While we don’t take this decision lightly, we are confident it is the right one. Many colleges and universities throughout the United States have taken the same action.

To best accommodate those who continue to utilize their alumni accounts, Stockton is providing ample time to allow individuals to create alternate email addresses and transfer data to these new accounts. We are offering tools and assistance to help you in this process.

For other questions regarding benefits and services available to alumni, please contact the Alumni Relations team at alumni@stockton.edu or (609) 652-4469.

Archiving Data

Alumni are encouraged to archive their student emails and, if they do not already have one, create a personal email account.

Email archival and data exports are initatied through Google Takeout, which can generate a download of all data associated with a student Google account such as email, contacts, Google Drive files, and more.

Google Sites require one of two methods of transferring ownership to a personal account, depending on the type of site: Classic Google Sites and New Google Sites.

For Google to Google account data transfers, initiate a transfer.

If you need assistance with archiving your data or creating a personal email account, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 609-652-4309 or by email at HelpDesk@stockton.edu
