Stockton Atlantic City
The opening of Stockton University Atlantic City, the University's new beachfront residential campus, marks a monumental achievement in the University's history. Excitement built throughout the year as the University, Atlantic City and the region watched a dream become a reality.
Located at the intersection of Atlantic, Albany and Pacific avenues in the city’s Chelsea neighborhood, Stockton University Atlantic City includes a three-story, 56,000-square-foot Academic Center and Residential Complex with apartments for over 500 students overlooking the beach and Boardwalk. More than 100 courses are underway and 1,300 students are registered for classes this fall.
Brian Jackson, chief operating officer, Atlantic City campus, and Haley Baum, assistant dean of students, Atlantic City, collaborated to educate the University community, prospective students and area businesses about the beachfront living and learning opportunities at Stockton University Atlantic City during several presentations and shuttle tours of the new campus.
In June, officials from Stockton and AtlantiCare announced that AtlantiCare will open its first Urgent Care Center in Atlantic City at the site of the new campus this fall.
In July, Atlantic City’s City Council approved the designation of a new University District surrounding the new campus in Atlantic City. The designation supports Stockton’s role as a state-designated Anchor Institution in the city. It is intended to promote investment and development in academic and related uses within the boundaries of the district.
Stockton hired a director of Campus Public Safety, with direct experience working in urban campus environments, who will reside at Stockton Atlantic City, and provide on-site security management of the campus.
