Manahawkin Instructional Site Hosts Lecture on ‘Gender & Genocide’ on Dec. 2

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University will host a lecture on “Gender & Genocide” on Friday, Dec. 2 at noon.

The event will be held at the Manahawkin Instructional Site, located at 712 E. Bay Ave., Manahawkin, N.J. The event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be provided. To register, call the Manahawkin Instructional Site at 609-626-3883.

Ashlee Ciccone, of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., will discuss the experiences of women during the Rwandan Genocide of 1994, pertaining to sexual violence and family relations/structures. The lecture will also compare similarities to women’s experiences during the Holocaust.  

Ciccone received a degree in Psychology from Stockton University and is currently studying for her Master of Arts in Holocaust and Genocide Studies, writing a thesis on the same presentation topic.
