Galloway, N.J. - Stockton University President Harvey Kesselman has been appointed by the American Council on Education (ACE) to serve on its Commission on Internationalization and Global Engagement.

Kesselman, an educator with over 35 years of experience in higher education, is actively engaged with the issues of internationalizing campuses and developing strategic partnerships with institutions throughout the world. In 2015, he gave a presentation on global outreach to a national educational audience at the ACE Executive Forum for Leading Internationalization.

“Your perspective and experience will provide critical guidance as we continue to be anticipatory in our response to the needs of U.S. institutions within a dynamic global higher education environment,” said Molly Corbett Broad, president of ACE, in announcing Kesselman’s July 1 appointment to a three-year term.

“I am honored to serve on this important commission, which will have worldwide impact in helping to shape the future of higher education,” Kesselman said. “This work reflects Stockton’s commitment to global perspectives, which is a key pillar of the university’s strategic planning and part of the distinctive education we offer our students, helping them to collaborate across cultures and thrive as members of the global workforce.”

Kesselman is involved in many national and state academic organizations. He is a frequent presenter at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), the American Council on Education (ACE), and the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP).

He also serves on the board of directors of the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia. The nonprofit organization provides trade and market counseling and educational programs; facilitates global trade missions and business events; and provides businesses in Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey with the market insight, tools, networking opportunities and global connections to compete in an increasingly competitive international marketplace.
