Club Connect: Meet the… Stockton Rock Climbing Club

The Stockton Rock Climbing Club is just one way to get involved at Stockton University.

Galloway, N.J. – COVID-19 couldn’t stop the Stockton Rock Climbing Club (SRCC) from reaching new heights!

Founded in 2018 with an outdoor focus, the club transitioned to indoor climbing in 2021, thanks to the efforts of then-presidents Justin Supnick and Brandon Levito. Now, under the leadership of Adam Sutton, the club continues to thrive.

“Indoor climbing makes it easier to get into rock climbing,” says Sutton. The indoor format allows for various gym options, enabling members to climb throughout the entire semester without worrying about weather conditions.

To join the fun, connect with them on GroupMe by clicking on their link in OspreyHub or follow their Instagram (@Stockton_Climbers) for updates on events, new merch and more!

With gyms such as Kinetic Climbing in Williamstown, Gravity Vault in Voorhees and Elite Climbing in Maple Shade available, members can climb throughout the semester without worrying about the weather.

“Our meetings are a little bit different than most clubs—we don’t just sit down and talk; we actually go out and climb!” Sutton shares. They meet twice a week, carpooling to one of the three gyms for about two and a half hours of climbing.

Don’t worry if you’re new to climbing; the club welcomes everyone. “Our club is for all levels, whether you’re a seasoned climber or just starting out. We’re looking for people who are open and willing to try,” says Emily Schadt, the public relations chair.
