Club Connect: Meet the…Stockton Cybersecurity Warriors

The Stockton Cybersecurity Warriors are just one way to get involved at Stockton University.
Galloway, NJ - Do you have an interest in all things cybersecurity? Are you at all curious about the ins and outs of hacking? If so, Stockton Cybersecurity Warriors (SCW) is the perfect club for you!
“The idea for this club was brought to life by the previous president of the Computer Society. After her initial idea for a more programming, cybersecurity-based club, I just kind of ran with some of my own ideas, and soon enough SCW was born,” stated current club president Zachary Lord.
This spring, aside from the InfraGard Workshop, SCW will also be in attendance at the Hackathon, held at the University of Delaware on Saturday, March 1, and Sunday, March 2. In addition, Lord is hopeful that a representative from the New Jersey Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Cell (NJCCIC) will be a guest speaker for one of their events in the spring.
If you, too, wish to become a part of these amazing opportunities, you can check them out on OspreyHub for more information. You can also look them up on Instagram (@Stockton.Tech) for more exciting news and events!
SCW never turns its back on a new member who is eager to learn more about cybersecurity. Computer Science major Lord explained that there is really only one thing [he] looks for in a member: a desire to learn about cybersecurity-related topics.
“You can be any major, whether that be communications, art, or anything in between, as long as we see your desire to learn,” Lord said.
Along with creating a fun environment that challenges all members to get involved in different aspects at every meeting, SCW also hosts many unforgettable events. These events give every member the opportunity to strengthen their skills and enhance their knowledge.
Last year, SCW traveled to Rowan University to attend their InfraGard Workshop. This workshop allowed students to gather useful information while sharing their own experiences with other attendees.
