Club Connect: Meet the… Anime Club

The Anime Club is just one way to get involved at Stockton University.
Galloway, N.J. — Recently revived by Demetrius Letson, a Communication Studies major, the Anime Club at Stockton University is home to many students who share a love of Japanese storytelling, art and creativity.
The club currently meets on Thursdays in F-207 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Information is posted on their Instagram.
Students are encouraged to visit the Anime Club website for updates and information on Misago Con at misagoconvention.weebly.com, as well as the club’s OspreyHub page, to stay up to date with announcements.
“I decided to revive the club to give my fellow students a space to relax, connect and be themselves. Anime and Japanese pop culture have a special way of bringing people together, and I wanted to rebuild a community where students could share that excitement,” Letson said.
The club is currently in a rebuilding stage, recruiting new members, organizing meetings and creating a supportive, inclusive environment. The Anime Club welcomes students from all majors and backgrounds to come together and connect through shared anime interests.
“We’re welcoming fans from all backgrounds, whether you’re a seasonal anime watcher, a manga reader, a cosplayer or simply curious to learn more about this world. Everyone is welcome, and there’s a place for you here,” Letson said.
The club is excited to announce that it will host its inaugural Misago Convention on Stockton’s Atlantic City campus on April 19, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Anime Club developed the name Misago Con because misago, which translates to “osprey” in Japanese, aligns with Stockton’s mascot. The event will celebrate anime, manga and fandom culture, bringing fans together for a day filled with art, cosplay, panels, games and community fun. Stockton students will also receive a discounted admission price.
