Stockton Announces Partnership with FreeWill Website
Galloway, N.J. — Stockton University recently announced a new partnership with FreeWill, a leading online platform for estate planning. This collaboration provides our community with a free and simple way to create legal wills and revocable living trusts, ensuring peace of mind for the future.
Estate planning is essential for everyone, regardless of age or wealth. There are several reasons why you might want to have a will in place:
- Security: Creating your will and estate plan allows you to communicate important financial and healthcare decisions so you’re prepared for whatever the future may hold.
- Peace of mind: A will allows you to provide for the people, pets and causes you love, so you know that no matter what, they will be supported.
- Impact: By including a legacy gift in your will to the Stockton University Foundation, you can sustain our commitment to lifelong learning for generations to come.
“I am so grateful for my Stockton experience that really helped shape most of the successes I’ve had in life from the friendships made to career opportunities. Part of that gratitude is to leave a legacy behind. That is why I’ve chosen to include Stockton as a part of my estate planning and to leave something behind to our university that has done so much for us,” said Tim Lenahan ’83.
By leaving a planned gift to Stockton in his will, Lenahan joins an exclusive group — the Stockton Legacy Society. The society honors members’ commitment with a lifetime membership that includes benefits such as exclusive invitations to university events, special communications, recognition on the Foundation’s website and more.
"With a planned gift, Legacy Society members ensure their support continues to empower students and strengthen our community for generations to come. We are deeply grateful for their dedication," said Dan Nugent, vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the Stockton University Foundation.
To become a member of the Legacy Society, simply make a planned gift of any amount to the Stockton University Foundation. You can also use FreeWill to make a planned gift to the University Foundation.
“I’ve always listed Stockton as a partial beneficiary on my 401(k) account in addition to money I will leave for my family because, to me, Stockton is family.” Lenahan added. “I encourage all my fellow Ospreys to update their giving to leave behind something for a place that has been so special to all of us. We use the expression ‘Osprey for Life,’ but by Including Stockton in your planned giving helps you to remain an ‘Osprey Forever’.”
