Club Connect: Meet the… Stockton Entrepreneurship Club
Galloway, N.J. – Inspired by entrepreneurship fairs that she attended in her home country of Ghana, Communication Studies major Lydia Adjetey decided to create the Stockton Entrepreneurship Club (SEC) in order to connect students with business leaders and professionals.
The SEC just held a business pitch competition among its members that had prizes of $500 (first place), $250 (second place) and a medal (third). The winners will be awarded and celebrated on Friday, Nov. 8, in the Board of Trustees Room at 4:30 p.m.
Join the club on OspreyHub and follow them on Instagram (@SEC.Stockton) for more updates on their upcoming meetings and events.
“One of the main reasons why we started a club is to have a summit here on the Stockton campus, where we invite entrepreneurs to come and teach students hands-on practice, such as people from the hairdressing sector, soap making, t-shirt making and stock trading,” Adjetey, the club’s co-founder and president, said.
According to Adjetey, the club is open to anyone, not just Business majors.
“Anybody can be an entrepreneur. Even if you think you don't have ideas, trust me – you're built with ideas.”
The club has many goals for this year, including attending conferences and collaborating with other entrepreneurship clubs outside of Stockton.
