Club Connect: Meet the… Stockton Action Volunteers for the Environment

The Stockton Action Volunteers for the Environment is just one of over 200 ways to get involved at Stockton University.

Galloway, N.J. – Are you passionate about the environment or committed to community service? The Stockton Action Volunteers for the Environment (or SAVE) might be the place for you!

Returning for another year will be SAVE’s Harvest Festival on Friday, Oct. 25, in the D/F Plaza. The festival will include food, vendors, music, club tabling and more.

Join the club on OspreyHub and follow them on Instagram (@Stockton.SAVE) for more updates on their upcoming meetings and events.

Established in 1973, the club works to help spread environmental awareness, consciousness and action.

A typical SAVE meeting every other Tuesday includes a discussion of and signing up for an upcoming volunteer opportunity, such as rebuilding an animal enclosure, or an educational backpacking trip like whale-watching.

“Our members also take a beekeeping course through the South Jersey Beekeepers Association so that we can become certified beekeepers and take care of bees on campus in the Sustainability Farm,” Jessica Birtwistle, co-director of the club, said.

“This is a great community to make friends no matter your interests. Anyone can join, and it’s a really fun time.”
