Club Connect: Meet the… Guatemalan Student Association
Galloway, N.J. – Interested in learning more about Guatemalan culture?
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, GUASA plans to host a workshop in which attendees create their own quitapenas, also known as “worry dolls,” at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, in Campus Center Meeting Room 5.
Join the club on OspreyHub and follow them on Instagram (@StocktonGUASA) for more updates on their upcoming meetings and events.
Look no further than the new Guatemalan Student Association, which hosts meetings every Thursday starting at 4:30 p.m.
Typical meetings include ice-breakers and games, as well as exploring current events in Guatemala. GUASA also plans to begin hosting fundraisers for humanitarian causes in the Central American country.
According to the association's vice president of service, Edwin Feria-Serna, GUASA is another opportunity for students to connect, regardless of race.
"This club is completely open – we are welcoming to everyone interested in this organization,” Feria-Serna said.
