Club Connect: Meet the… Osprey Chess Club

The Osprey Chess Club is just one of over 200 ways to get involved at Stockton University.

Galloway, N.J. - You might have noticed students in the hallway engaged in intense chess matches; they are members of the Osprey Chess Club! If you enjoy thinking outside the box and being creative, this is the club for you.

Each semester, the club hosts a tournament in November. Once finalized, they’ll send out details via email, OspreyHub, GroupMe and Discord. The tournament is open to all skill levels, with food, refreshments and prizes, including gift cards for the top two winners!

To stay updated on the tournament and other events, visit OspreyHub or follow their Instagram (@Osprey_Chess).

The Osprey Chess Club has been thriving for many years and continues to grow. They meet every other Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the C/D atrium for two hours of chess. Members compete against each other, practicing their skills and learning new techniques.

No experience? No problem! The club is excited to teach newcomers. “We welcome everyone, whether you’re a beginner or more advanced. It’s great to teach them how to play nice and typical,” says Gurtej Singh, president of the club.

Join the fun and challenge your mind with the Osprey Chess Club!
