Stockton Approved by N.Y. to Offer Social Work Courses
Galloway, N.J. _ Stockton University’s Office of Continuing Studies has received approval from the New York State Education Department to offer continuing education courses for Licensed Social Workers (LMSWs & LCSWs).
Stockton offers a variety of workshops in clinical practice, cultural competence, professional ethics, and research & assessment. In collaboration with Stockton offices such as the Child Welfare Education Institute and our nationally accredited Social Work Program, Stockton now offers continuing education certificates to social workers in the tri-state New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania area.
“We are very excited to grow our program,” said Diana Strelczyk, assistant director and lead program organizer in the Stockton Office of Continuing Studies. “Not only does this expand our outreach geographically to our New York neighbors, it also serves as a greater benefit to the social workers and the clients they work with every day.”
The Office of Continuing Studies has online workshops scheduled through February 2021, with multiple new programs in development through summer 2021.
“Our online format has been very successful,” Strelczyk said. “The ability for people to access our workshops from the comfort and safety of their own home/office has allowed more professionals to attend sessions and receive their renewal hours.”
Stockton’s Office of Continuing Studies is also currently accepting proposals from new instructors for professional development courses. Most of the workshops are 2-3 hours long and can be taught from anywhere with a reliable internet connection.
Licensed social work and/or mental health professional in the tri-state region interested in teaching a course can contact the Office of Continuing Studies by emailing cs@stockton.edu.
