Six Receive Distinguished Student Awards

Galloway, N.J. - Six students have received Fellowship for Distinguished Students Awards for the summer/fall 2020 semester. Vice President for Student Affairs Christopher Catching announced the recipients at the May 6 Board of Trustees meeting.

They are:

nauera AbouabdouNauera Abou Abdou, a sophomore Biology major from Ventnor, received $1,000 for a project titled: “Investigation of the Role of Steroid Hormones in the Reptile Fight of Flight Response.”  Her advisor is Assistant Professor of Biology Craig Lind.

mariam eskanderMariam Eskander, a junior Political Science major from Egg Harbor Township, received $1,000 for research titled “The Global Reach of the National Rifle Association (NRA): Unpacking the Power of Foreign Lobbying.”  Her advisor is Assistant Professor of Political Science Lauren Balasco.

robert nardelloRobert Nardello, a senior Business Studies major from Mt.Laurel, received $390 for research titled “Regime Switching Machine Learning Models in Finance.”  His advisor is Assistant Professor of Business Studies Hyeoncheol Baik, Ph.D.
        

Egor Milov, a senior Biology Major from Linwood, received $800 for research titled: “The “Possibilities and Benefitegorm milovs of Inter-Major Research Opportunities.”  His advisor is Professor of Mathematics Judith Vogel.

Samantha Rachel, a junior Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major, received $1,000 for research titled “Collateral Oxidative Damage Resulting from Immune Activation in Reptiles.”  Her advisor is Assistant Professor of Biology Craig Lind. 

Danielle Russano, a senior Liberal Arts major with a concentration in Historical Studies received a grant for her project "Veterans History Exhibit."  Her advisor is Special Collections Library Heather Perez.
