GALLOWAY, NJ - In response to recent litigation concerning allegations of sexual assault, please know that these allegations either have been or are being investigated by Stockton University Campus Police, Galloway Township Police and/or the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Stockton University cannot comment on the litigation. The Office of the N.J. Attorney General is representing the University in its defense of these matters, and we are fully supportive of all law enforcement personnel who are responding to and investigating these allegations.
In the meantime, there is important information that Stockton University can share:
- Stockton University’s first priority is the safety of all students. We will continue to assert our “Students First” commitment and provide a safe and caring environment for all students and every member of the Stockton community.
- We require incoming students to attend Orientation and Welcome Week programs that specifically address topics such as sexual assault and violence prevention. The University is proactive in its warnings and we regularly caution our students about the dangers inherent in events involving alcohol and drugs.
- We take the issue of sexual assault of any member of our community extremely seriously and have extensive resources in place to support and protect students and the community. Stockton advises its students to immediately report any incident or threatening situation to authorities. We urge anyone who has been involved in an incident of sexual assault to please report it to Stockton Police.
We will continue to update the community as permissible if future developments occur.
