10th G. Larry James Bike Ride Raises Almost $26,000
Galloway, N.J.- The 10th Annual G. Larry James Legacy Bike Ride in June raised almost $26,000 for student scholarships at Stockton University.
A check was presented at the Sept. 26 Board of Trustees meeting.
The late G. Larry James was a longtime administrator at Stockton and a gold and silver medalist in the 1968 Olympics.
The annual bike ride, which this year attracted 160 riders, has raised more than $180,000 for scholarships since 2009. Gerald Behney, who also participates in the ride, has donated $25,000 to date and was recognized for his support. More than 15 $1,000 scholarships are awarded each year from the fund.
The annual G. Larry James Legacy 5K race to benefit the scholarship fund will be held Oct. 20 in Atlantic City as part of the Atlantic City Marathon race weekend.
