Galloway, N.J. - Artist Tom Sandor teaches older adults to draw through a partnership with the Stockton Center on Successful Aging (SCOSA) every Wednesday in March and April at the Atlantic County Library’s Egg Harbor Township branch at 1 Swift Ave.
Guided by Sandor’s experience and expertise, you will learn to draw what you “see,” at your own pace, developing powers of observation and defining individual style. With emphasis on self-discovery and skill development, the class will focus on building and refining basic skills, exploring a broad range of drawing materials and sharing ideas and techniques.
A fee of $5 per session will be collected by the instructor. Participants must purchase and bring their own materials. No experience is necessary; however those with a sample of previous work are encouraged to bring it to the class.
Materials List:
- One General’s Essential Tools Drawing Kit to get started; instructor will advise if anything additional is needed.
- Two drawing pads – one 11 x 14" white paper (not newsprint), one smaller, up to 8.5 x 11" (white drawing paper or something nicer, such as Super Deluxe, Stonehenge or Swarthmore.)
Classes will be held on Wednesdays, March 15, 22, 29 and April 5, 12, 19 and 26 from 10 a.m. - noon.
