Galloway Township, NJ- More than 100 donors and 200 registered golfers helped raise more than $110,000 at the Stockton University Golf Classic at Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club on Sept. 26.

"Our focus is on supporting Stockton students, and the Golf Classic provides an opportunity for the community to engage with us in our effort,” said Dr. Philip T. Ellmore, chief development officer.” We received an outpouring of support from our sponsors and the community, and we are truly grateful."

The Stockton Golf Classic was played on the Bay and Pines courses at the historic Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club. Proceeds benefit the Stockton University Foundation in its mission to assist the university and its students. Since 2006 the tournament has raised some $1.2 million.

Mike Brestle, Darren Mattik, Kasey Klingert and Alex Clark, sponsored by Calvi Electric, were on the top winning men’s foursome. Steve Bancheri, Mindy Banceri, Fran Kaplan, Ray Schreyer and Bill McHugh, sponsored by Shore Medical Center, were the top mixed team.

Walt’s Original Primo Pizza was the presenting sponsor. Other top sponsors included: Glenn Insurance, IBEW Local 351, Marathon Engineering and Environmental Services, Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters, Pennoni, Pennsylvania Trust, Pepsi and SOSH Architects.
The Stockton Parent and Family Association welcomed Stockton supporters to the event and members of the Stockton golf team joined tournament players out on the course.

In addition to this year’s golf classic, 27 golfers participated in the second annual golf clinic sponsored by Dr. Barbara Chamberlain, RN, ’90. Leading the clinic was Mays Landing native and PGA professional, Joanna Coe. Coe began the clinic with a putting demonstration, then broke out participants by skill level for further instruction with local golf pros.
