Galloway, N.J. - The Stockton University Art Gallery will present the exhibition "Selected Works from the Atlantic County Teen Arts Festival" from June 8-22. A meet-and-greet reception will be held on Saturday, June 10 from 1-3 p.m. to celebrate with the young artists. This event is free and open to the public. Special gallery hours are 12-4 p.m. daily.
This exhibit, selected by professional artists and educators, represents a small portion of the more than 500 pieces of artwork that were on display during the annual Atlantic County Teen Arts Festival held on Tuesday, May 24 in Hammonton's Arts District. Further selections will be made from this group exhibition and sent on to the statewide Teen Arts Exhibition that will tour New Jersey later this year.
First held in 1969, the festival is part of a statewide multidisciplinary program in the fine and performing arts. It is open to any high school-aged student in public or private school, as well as home-schooled students and those who are involved in extracurricular private instruction. The program encompasses activities in dance, theater, vocal music, instrumental music, film/video, photography, creative writing and the visual arts.
