  • Provides 52 hours of training for individuals looking to transition into retail management positions. Successful completion of this program will result in ServSafe Food Manager & National Retail Federation Customer Service and Sales certifications.

Due to COVID- 19, contracted WFNJ services has been suspended, pending new funding availability. Please check back in late fall.

  • Provides work readiness, occupational training, job placement and retention to Atlantic County residents required to participate in to-work activities.

Our team is staffed by highly experienced professionals capable of providing your company with consultation services to increase visibility in a tight labor market and remain competitive in the current economic climate. Our services:

Work Preparation Programs for Young Adults

  • The Atlantic County Opportunity Youth Collaboration is a grant-funded work preparation program for low income individuals, ages 18 to 24 residing in Atlantic County, New Jersey. The program provides career training, paid work experience, community service-learning projects, work readiness, life skills, digital literacy, financial literacy, academic remediation, high school diploma test preparation, leadership development, job networking, interview preparation, job development activities, placement and retention services. The High School Diploma Test Preparation class is a 30-hour skills-based course for anyone over the age of 16 who would like to earn their high school diploma.  This course will specialize in working with current high school juniors and seniors that may not be graduating, students being homeschooled, students looking to receive their high school diploma early, youth (16-24 years old) who left school before graduating, and adults (ages 25+) without a high school diploma. 

This live virtual course prepares participants for the Test for Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) or the General Education Test by Pearson Vue exams (also known as an “HSE Exam”, formerly called the “GED Exam”). This course provides individuals with the knowledge and confidence they need to take the high school diploma test through review of Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies content areas that are included on the high school diploma exams. This course is instructor-led with live and scheduled synchronous instruction and some asynchronous independent study.Enrolled students will be expected to participate in live sessions Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:30pm with the remaining hour for independent study. Students will need internet access and a computer to participate virtually (cell phones and tablets are not recommended). Note: This is a preparation course and does not include the cost of the HSE Exam. Upon completion of the course, participants will be provided guidance on locations and providers of the HSE exam in their local area.

Participants not currently enrolled in high school will be expected to take a pre-assessment to determine their readiness to take the high school diploma test. Participants who do not have access to the required technology, require financial assistance to cover the cost of this course, need to schedule a pre-assessment, or have additional questions can contact the Stockton University Office of Continuing Studies.

All courses are hosted online Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Evenings from 6:00pm-8:30pm with live instruction and 8:30-9:30pm for online independent study time.
