About our Instructors:

Dave Griffin (Atlantic City)

Dave Griffin has been a resident of South Jersey all of his life, and has had a lifelong passion with photography. At an early age Dave knew that he wanted to become a photographer. As a young man he spent hours studying the top photographers in the world, sparking the lure of travel and excitement of photojournalism, that has become a lifelong pursuit. Without the benefit of formal photography schooling, Dave secured a job shooting freelance for local media outlets in south Jersey in 1978 covering local high school sports, as well as, Atlantic City Boxing, Philadelphia professional and college sporting events. It wasn't long before his dreams of photographing and traveling to faraway places took over and lead to climbing mountains in Africa in 1984, running the London Marathon in 1986, bartending in Amsterdam in 1987, and spending many years working in the commercial fishing industry. All this was done with his camera close by his side. Dave continues to be a passionate student of light and photography, and is now teaching photography to elementary and middle school children in various afterschool programs in Cumberland County. Dave is also a proud Stockton Alumni! Follow Dave on Instagram (@grifftari) to view his full portfolio.

Jack Mazzeo (Hammonton)

Jack Mazzeo was born into the business of professional photography. He has the distinction of owning and managing the oldest continuously operating studio in the state of New Jersey, established in 1946 by his father John W. Mazzeo. He also has trained our third generation photographer, his daughter Deanna. Jack’s specialty is fine portraits of families and seniors. Jack also has the distinction of being one of the new who hold the title of Master of Photography in this part of the country. Although Jack grew up around cameras and has been taking pictures all his life, he will still tell anyone who asks him that he loves it. His creative ability has not gone unnoticed in the work of professional photography. Jack has been inspiring photographers for years to develop their creative ability and to advance the art of their profession. He regularly speaks at seminars, conferences, and holds workshops instructing others in lightning, posing and technique. Jack's work has been displayed in exhibits at professional photographers conventions in New Jersey, New York, Chicago, New Orleans, The Epcot Center in Florida, Las Vegas, and recently Korea. He has been named “Mr. Professional Photographer” by the state of New Jersey and has received the prestigious, National Merit Award by The Professional Photographers of America.
