"My history, philosophy, and theology courses cumulatively worked to give me the foundation to build upon later at seminary and now in my professional career as a minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. 'History of Christian Thought, Parts 1 & 2' gave me that crucial overview of how Christian thought and history have developed over the last 2000 years, from the ascension of Christ and the work of the first apostles, through to the Reformation and into the modern day, this was the essential set of courses. But other classes, 'Medieval Philosophy', 'The Crusades', and even an independent study with Dr. Siecienski on the Papacy have all helped. I would encourage combining Philosophy/Religious studies with the personal study of Latin, Biblical Greek and/or Biblical Hebrew. The study of language along with the study of ideas and its history go together like peanut butter and Jelly in assisting one another."
