Stockton Veterans Week Activities

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University and The Office of Military and Veteran Services will host a week of events from Nov. 5-10. The public is invited to attend.

Monday, Nov. 5,6:00-7:30 p.m. Campus Center Theater: Hear the personal stories of veterans on service, war, and homecoming at a day dedicated to veteran’s mental health awareness.

Tuesday, Nov. 6, 4:30-6:00 p.m. Campus Center Theatre: Retired Air Force Tech Sergeant, George Linen will speak about the history of African-American Service in the US, as well as his personal experience in the service, and that of his family.

Wednesday, Nov. 7:4:30 p.m., Room E-206C: Dr. David Frey, Professor/Director Center Holocaust and Genocide Studies U.S. Army-West Point, will speak on “Teaching the Military to Prevent Atrocity.”  The lecture is Sponsored by The Sara & Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at Stockton.

Thursday, Nov. 8:12:00-1:30 p.m., Stockton Art Gallery, L-wing: Meet and greet lunch with Professor/Director Center Holocaust and Genocide Studies US Army-West Point, Dr. David Frey, sponsored by The Sara & Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center.

Friday, Nov. 9:11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Veterans Day celebration will begin in front of the Campus Center and end at Veterans Park. Lunch will take place in the Stockton Art Gallery in L wing.

Saturday, Nov. 10, 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Stockton Atlantic City: 100th anniversary celebration of Armistice Day at Stockton University Atlantic City Academic Center’s Fannie Lou Hamer Event Room. The day will include a visit to the Greek Temple Monument with the “Liberty in Distress” sculpture.

Saturday, Nov. 10, 7:30 p.m. Stockton Performing Arts Center: Free Veterans Day Concert by the Bay Atlantic Symphony. For tickets go to stocktonpac.org. Ticket availability is limited. Call the box office at 609 652-9000.
