Suicide Prevention Month, 'Healing and Hope'

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University will host 20 events throughout the fall 2017 semester to support Suicide Prevention including a Suicide Prevention Walk, interactive tabling with depression screenings and therapy dogs, national Hip-Hop artist Kai Roberts, a “Men and Mental Health” panel, veterans’ monologues, and a keynote address by the President of the University of British Columbia, Dr. Santa Ono.

Description: Memorial Table; mementos to people who have died by suicide

Sunday October 1, 2017
Event: Suicide Prevention Walk
Event Description: A 3/4-mile fully accessible walk through the center of Stockton’s beautiful campus, focused on remembrance, support, and prevention.
Time: 6 p.m.
Location: Lakeside Lodge
Note: In the event of rain, the entire event will be held indoors in the Campus Center Theater.

Event: President Dr. Santa Ono, Suicide Prevention Month Keynote Speaker
Event Description: President of the University of British Columbia, Dr. Santa Ono, to share his narrative on experiencing mental health challenges, his journey though these challenges on his way to achieving goals, growing resilience, and helping others.
Time: 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Location: Alton Auditorium with immediately followed by reception in CD atrium with free food!
Details: Speech and reception with food.
