2nd District Congressional District Debate
Galloway, N.J. – A one-hour debate between major-party candidates in New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 10 at Stockton University. Democrat Jeff Van Drew and Republican Seth Grossman will square off in the Campus Center Theatre.
The debate will also be broadcast live by SNJ Today on WACP channel 4, and livestreamed on The Press of Atlantic City website.
The event is open to the public. Tickets are not required. Doors open at 5 p.m. Because the event is being broadcast live, participants must be in their seats by 5:45 p.m. Latecomers will be able to watch the livestreamed debate in another room at the Campus Center.
SNJ Today, the Millville-based media company, has joined the William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton University and The Press of Atlantic City as cosponsors of the debate.
Michael W. Klein, executive director of the William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton, will serve as moderator. Questioners will be W. F. Keough, managing editor of The Press of Atlantic City, and Stockton political science professor Claire Abernathy.
No questions will be posed by the audience or candidates during the debate. The public was offered the opportunity to submit questions for consideration prior to the debate.
No campaign signs, buttons, gear, slogans or demonstrations will be allowed inside the venue. For security purposes, bags may be searched. A “free speech” area will be designated outside the Campus Center for anyone interested in leafletting, protests or other advocacy activities.
