Yom HaShoah Memorial Service
Galloway, N.J. — The Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at Stockton University will commemorate Yom HaShoah in April with a program titled “Unto Every Person There is a Name – Remembering the 6 million Jewish victims of the Shoah.”
The free event will be held in person at Beth El Synagogue, 500 N. Jerome Ave., Margate, at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13. Doors will open at 5 p.m. The community-wide commemoration will highlight Holocaust survivors in southern New Jersey and will include a memorial service.

The evening will feature a keynote by Holocaust survivor Raymond Polak, who will offer a first-hand account of the horrors of the Shoah and the enduring human spirit. Polak was born in 1943 in Limoges, France. He will share his mother’s escape from the Gurs internment camp and his father’s time as a resistance fighter during World War II.
The Sara & Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center preserves and shares the history of the Holocaust and life stories of Holocaust Survivors of South Jersey. Designated as a Holocaust Center of Excellence, it houses over 4,000 volumes, oral histories, films and survivor‑led workshops serving Southern New Jersey communities.
