Second Biennial Mid-Atlantic Intergenerational Conference

Atlantic City, N.J. – The Second Biennial Mid-Atlantic Intergenerational Conference, Approaches to Living, Learning, and Growing, will take place June 3-5 at Stockton University’s Atlantic City campus.

Hosted by the Stockton Center on Successful Aging in partnership with Penn State University, the conference is open to faculty, staff, students and members of the Stockton community.

The program invites colleagues from across the region to share ideas, successes and challenges in building meaningful intergenerational connections. The 2026 conference will include a mix of workshops, panel discussions, roundtables, poster sessions and individual presentations. There will also be opportunities to connect informally and participate in site visits to organizations strengthening intergenerational engagement.

New this year:

  • Pre-Conference: Intergenerational Community Design Competition – developed in collaboration with Penn State’s Hamer Center for Community Design, this inaugural competition encourages innovative thinking around spaces that foster connection across generations.
  • Pre-Conference Visit: MudGirls Studios, a nonprofit pottery center that empowers disadvantaged women while building an intergenerational community.

Featured Events:

  • Intergenerational Harmony with the New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra – a live performance featuring musicians of all ages, along with a conversation on the impact of making music across generations.
  • Forty Years United: Building Bridges that Last presented by Kristen Kiefer, executive director of Generations United.
  • For All Ages, With All Ages: Integrating Intergenerational Principles with Age-Friendly Initiatives, facilitated by Cassandra Masters (Age-Friendly Greater Pittsburgh). Panelists include Cathy Bollinger (York County Community Foundation), Christine Happel (Ohio State University) and Dr. Karen Rose (Stockton University).
