Eating Disorder Awareness Week events

Galloway, N.J. — Stockton University’s Counseling and Psychological Services and Active Minds will host a series of campus events for Eating Disorder Awareness Week from Feb. 23–26, centered on the theme “Every Body Belongs.”

Supported by the Alton Mental Health Initiatives Fund, the week features daily interactive outreach activities along with guest speakers focused on awareness, recovery and support. Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to wear periwinkle in recognition of Eating Disorder Awareness Week, especially on Feb. 24, the national awareness day.

Featured speakers include Jason Wood, author of “Starving for Survival” (3:30 p.m. Feb. 23 in West Quad, Room 103); representatives from the Renfrew Center, an eating disorder recovery center, discussing diagnosis, treatment and recovery (1 p.m. Feb. 24 in Campus Center Meeting Room 5); and Stockton alum and former cross country and track and field runner Cait Glynn, who works professionally with those affected by disordered eating (6 p.m. Feb. 26 in L-Wing, Room 112). Additionally, a “Yoga for All Bodies” session led by Flow House Yoga (2 p.m. Feb. 25 in F-003 classroom) and campus wellness activities will be held throughout the week.

Interactive tabling will take place each day, and attendees who participate in at least one event per day will be entered for a grand prize drawing. Light refreshments and giveaways will also be available. Go to ospreyhub for more information, or call 609-652-4722.
