Author speaks on new book about Nazi hunters
Galloway, N.J. — Best-selling author Charles Lachman argues that one of the most important campaigns of World War II came after the surrender of Hitler’s troops.

In his new book, “They Shall Not See the Dawn: The Manhunt for the Third Reich’s Most Wanted,” Lachman details the U.S. Army’s Counter-Intelligence Corps (CIC) efforts to track down Hitler’s most dangerous henchmen.
Lachman, the executive producer of “Inside Edition,” will discuss his book at 6 p.m. Oct. 29 in Lecture Hall L-112 on Stockton University’s Galloway campus.
The event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is required by emailing Stockton’s Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center (HRC) or calling 609-652-4699.
The men of the CIC included college students, linguists, an actor, young draftees and refugees armed with guns, intellect and intuition. Their quarry were Ernst Kaltenbrunner, the Gestapo chief; Julius Streicher, founder of the antisemitic newspaper Der Sturmer; Robert Ley, master of slave labor; and other war criminals desperate to escape justice.
The talk is co-sponsored by the HRC, the Board of Jewish Education of Atlantic and Cape May Counties and the Jewish Federation of Atlantic and Cape May Counties.
