Mitzvah Zecher Avot Service

Galloway, N.J. — The Mitzvah Zecher Avot Service (The Good Deed of Remembering Family) will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 28 at the Holocaust Survivors Section at the Rodef Sholom Cemetery in Egg Harbor Township.

This free and open-to-the-public remembrance service is designed for Holocaust survivors and their families who represent the generations born after the Holocaust. As the number of survivors declines, this yearly tradition provides a vital opportunity to remember their immense contributions to both the Jewish and general communities in southern New Jersey.

The names of Holocaust survivors will be read at the ceremony. The cemetery is located at 6691 Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township. This event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is required by contacting Stockton’s Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at 609-652-4699 or emailing hrc@stockton.edu.

A virtual Zoom option is available, please contact the Holocaust center for the link. Should inclement weather occur, the service will be held completely on Zoom.
