Discussion on Photo Restoration at Historical Societies

Galloway, N.J. – Norm Goos, librarian of the Atlantic County Historical Society, will discuss a new photo restoration project currently underway with the society and facilitate a Q&A starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18 in Lecture Room F-111.

Historical societies such as Atlantic County hold repositories of hundreds and sometimes thousands of historic photographs in danger of fading and degrading. Once digitized for preservation, Goos claims that digital photos can be restored and improved using “readily available software.”

Goos will introduce the project, provide before and after examples of restored photographs and answer questions.

This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
