Monmouth University Professor Saliba Sarsar is also the co-founder and president/CEO of the Jerusalem Peace Initiative.

Monmouth University Professor Saliba Sarsar will speak at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 22 in the Campus Center Theatre. His lecture is titled “Pathways to Peace: Discussing Israeli-Palestinian Relations.”

The political science professor, who was born and raised in Jerusalem, will discuss the roots of the current Israel-Hamas war, as well as the potential pathways for peace in the region. A question-and-answer session will take place after the lecture.

“The Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center continues to work on programming to commemorate the Holocaust and develop sensitivity and understanding by combating antisemitism, racism, hatred and oppression in New Jersey,” said Irvin Moreno-Rodriguez, interim director of the center. “This event reaffirms the center’s commitment to educating teachers, students, and community members about the rise and dangers of antisemitism and hatred in all its forms.

“Through education, discussion, reflection and action we can continue to build a foundation for a more peaceful world for all,” he said.
