Academic Freedom Colloquium
Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University’s Office of Student Development, in partnership with PEN America, will host a colloquium full of scholarly presentations and interactive workshops on academic freedom on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
Ideas and topics that will be explored include:
- A historical look into the inception and promise of academic freedom
- Challenges to a scholar’s research
- Academic freedom and harm
- Academic freedom and inclusive classrooms
The day, which starts at 10 a.m. in Lecture Room F-111, will be led by Lara Schwartz, author of “Try to Love the Questions: From Debate to Dialogue in Classroom and Life” and professor for American University, along with facilitators from PEN America.
Students who attend the colloquium will receive a free copy of Schwartz’s book.
