Cannabis Aid Event

Atlantic City, N.J. ‒ Stockton University will host a free Cannabis Aid Event from 12-3 p.m., Dec. 17, at its Atlantic City campus, 3711 Atlantic Ave.

The event will provide opportunities to learn about Stockton’s Cannabis Studies Online Certificate Program, meet with representatives from Atlantic City and participate in an expungement and legal aid clinic.

Along with the support of the city of Atlantic City, The Botanist, an award-winning national cannabis retail and product brand, will announce a sponsorship for three social equity applicants to earn a Cannabis Certificate through Stockton University’s Continuing Studies online cannabis program. Sponsorship recipients will receive an interview for employment at The Botanist upon their completion of the certificate program.

“Together, we are establishing an ongoing pipeline of qualified individuals interested in this growing field and making a difference in the lives of cannabis social equity candidates,” said Rob Mejia, Cannabis Studies teaching specialist at Stockton.

Stockton University has been New Jersey’s leader in cannabis higher education. “With the launch of our community-focused cannabis sponsorship program, we are reaching out to the community to help educate and train social equity candidates who want to work in the cannabis business or start a business,” Mejia said.

Courses in the Stockton Cannabis Studies Certificate include: Environmental Issues and Sustainability in the Cannabis Industry; Social Justice and Cannabis; Risk Management and Insurance for Cannabis Businesses; Cannabis Law; Introduction to Research in Medical and Adult-use Cannabis and more.
