Cannabis 101: Terms, Definitions, Questions

Galloway, N.J. –  The Cannabis & Hemp Research Initiative at Stockton University (CHRIS) will  host a free virtual information session, Cannabis 101: Terms, Definitions and Questions, from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1.

Stockton adjunct professors in cannabis studies Robert Mejia and attorney Steven Schain will provide information and take questions from participants.

“People still have so many questions that we thought it would be a good idea to start with the basics,” Mejia said.

Topics will include: What is cannabis? Is cannabis the same thing as hemp? What do the terms THC and CBD mean? How does cannabis work in the body?  What medical conditions are covered by the medical cannabis laws in New Jersey? What is the legalization status of cannabis in the US and in New Jersey?  When will the New Jersey adult use market start and what does that mean for consumers? What are the most common cannabis business opportunities that will be available? Where and how can I learn more about cannabis?  What are the most common risks or concerns about using cannabis?

Registration is through Stockton’s Office of Continuing Studies, which also offers a Cannabis Studies Certificate program of courses.   Click on the catalog or go to: https://stockton.gosignmeup.com/public/Course/browse?courseid=2753
