Beautify Chelsea Cleanup
Atlantic City N.J. – The Chelsea community is taking action to tackle one of its top priorities, beautification, by holding a neighborhood clean up on Saturday, November 21 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at O’Donnell Park at Albany and Atlantic avenues. The park will be the drop off location for bulk trash, electronics, and document shredding, as well as an after-party celebration with food, entertainment, and games from 11a.m. to noon.
The event is being organized by the Chelsea Neighborhood Association (CNA), Stockton University, and the Chelsea Economic Development Corporation, with support from ACDEVCO, the Department of Public Works and the Special Improvement District.
Stockton University’s First Lady Lynne Kesselman suggested the cleanup and stated “This event serves not just to beautify Chelsea, but also as an opportunity for us to gather and work toward a common goal. I hope to see many people from our Stockton University community and look forward to meeting more of our neighbors.”
Stockton also organizes an annual clean up on the MLK Day of Service, to take place on Monday, January 18, 2021.
CNA President Carol Ruffu stated “We are excited to bring together residents from Chelsea, Lower Chelsea and Chelsea Heights for the largest cleanup ever organized. We ask residents to show their Chelsea pride by joining with their neighbors to make a difference on their street and in their neighborhood.”
In addition to the dumpster that will be provided for bulk trash drop off, curbside pick-up of bulk trash is also available that day only to those who pre-register at www.ChelseaEDC.org/beautify-chelsea. Items must be set out at the curb between 5:00 p.m. Friday 11/20 and 5:00 a.m. Saturday 11/21.
The organizers are also asking residents to provide addresses of unkempt Chelsea properties that should be notified of the clean up through mail. Send street address to info@chelseaedc.org.
Participants can win a Boom Market Gift Card or improvements to their street by posting and tagging photos and videos. Find important details on the on-line registration page.
