Turtle-Palooza: Interacting With Local Species

Galloway, N.J. – John Wnek, supervisor and teacher at the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES) in Ocean County and Stockton adjunct faculty member, will present “Turtle-Palooza,” a free, “turtley-good” interactive workshop at 10 a.m. August 8 at Stockton University at Manahawkin, 712 East Bay Ave.

This event will educate attendees about turtle species and their habitats with the help of a few captive turtles and terrapins from MATES. Wnek will also detail conservation efforts that are a part of Project Terrapin, which is a volunteer, conservation, and education initiative that supports diamondback terrapin research throughout Barnegat Bay and New Jersey.
