Murphy Writing Publishing Workshop for Writers
Hammonton, NJ – Murphy Writing of Stockton University will present a Publishing Workshop at Stockton
University Kramer Hall in Hammonton on from 9:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 2, 2019.
Led by Peter E. Murphy, this hands-on workshop will deepen participants’ understanding
of the publishing process. Participants will become acquainted with today’s premier
submission resources. They will apply what they’ve learned through hands-on research
and goal setting. Murphy will explain how to prepare a manuscript, what literary agents
do, where to find the right market for the right piece and more.
Whether participants are working on a novel, memoir, short story, personal essay or
poetry, they will go home inspired, with a personalized plan and the tools to carry
it out.
“Writers are expected to be introverts who shut themselves away and go at it alone,”
Murphy explained, “but they don’t have to be. When we work together, we create a supportive
community that helps us make breakthroughs.”
“This was an excellent way to spend a Saturday,” said Margaret of Hamilton, NJ, “I
found many new markets for my work. I’m leaving this workshop motivated even though
I already submit quite often.”
Tuition is $150 and includes the workshop, a morning coffee break and a lunch of salad and sandwiches.
Advance registration is required. A snow date of March 9 is also reserved. For full
registration information, visit stockton.edu/murphywriting or call 609-626-3594.
Stockton University Kramer Hall is located at 30 Front Street, Hammonton, NJ 08037.
