Free Classical Piano Recital
Galloway, N.J. – Pianist Heera Ghorashi, who has performed in New York and New Jersey, will present a free, open to the public concert of classical compositions at Stockton University’s Campus Center Theatre on Saturday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m.
The program will feature music of Mozart, Czerny, Schumann, Schubert and Liszt. She will close the program with a special presentation of an original composition, Theme and Variations in E Flat Minor by 16-year-old Cole T. Griscom of Hammonton. Cole first saw Ghorashi play at the Campus Center Theatre when he was 10 and had just discovered the piano and his love for classical music. He began composing shortly thereafter. Since then they’ve kept in touch supporting each other’s performances.
Ghorashi received her bachelor's degree from Seoul National University before coming to the United States, where she studied and received her master's degree in piano performance from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. For many years, she has worked as a piano instructor.
This event is sponsored by the School of Arts and Humanities and the Office of Events Services and Campus Operations.
